Guitar straps inspired by famous guitarists – Gilmour, Hendrix, Clapton, Page & more

At Right On! Straps, we don’t just make comfortable and durable guitar straps; we want each one to tell a story. The “Legend” collection is designed for guitarists who feel a special connection with rock legends and want to bring part of their energy to the stage. Each model is inspired by a real guitar strap or by the stage style of a legendary musician, recreating its essence without losing sight of comfort and durability.
We are aware that throughout an entire career, the options and variety of both guitars and guitar straps vary greatly, but we have focused on what has remained, on those that are the reference, the ones that definitely remind you of one guitarist or another.
We try to recreate and replicate at least one guitar strap per year, and we normally base ourselves on the feedback from people who write to us. Right now, we have a replica of Eddie Vedder’s guitar strap in progress, because a client asked us for it.

Guitar strap inspired by David Gilmour

Guitar strap inspired by David Gilmour (Pink Floyd)

David Gilmour, guitarist of Pink Floyd, is synonymous with epic tone, memorable solos and masterful guitar playing. His guitar strap, generally simple and understated, reflects that philosophy: nothing distracts, everything is focused on the sound. The Gilmour-inspired version preserves that restraint, with high-quality materials, neutral tones and an ergonomic fit that allows for hours of live playing without losing support or comfort. It is ideal for classic rock, progressive rock and blues guitarists looking for an elegant and functional look without falling into visual excess.

Guitar strap inspired by Jimi Hendrix

Guitar strap inspired by Jimi Hendrix

Jimi Hendrix revolutionized the electric guitar with his technique, psychedelic aesthetics and rebellious attitude. His way of playing, his clothes and his guitar strap form a very distinctive combination of psychedelic rock. The Hendrix-inspired guitar strap captures that spirit of freedom, with striking details, bold colors or prints evoking the 60s, designed for guitarists who want a vibrant, daring and highly personal look. It is perfect for stages where body, movement and attitude are just as important as the sound itself.

Guitar strap inspired by Jimmy Page

Guitar strap inspired by Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin)

Jimmy Page, master of Led Zeppelin, combines elegance, technique and a touch of mystery. His stage image, with his guitar floating beside him, has become an icon of classic rock. The Page-inspired guitar strap keeps clean lines, quality materials and a sober yet distinctive design, ideal for guitarists who love 70s rock, hard rock and electric blues. It is a perfect choice if you want a look that evokes the golden age of rock without giving up comfort in demanding live performances.

Guitar strap inspired by John Lennon

Guitar strap inspired by John Lennon (The Beatles)

John Lennon, beyond his role as singer and songwriter, also projected a very iconic image. His way of playing acoustic or electric guitar, often with simple and functional guitar straps, reflected his direct and sincere style. The Lennon-inspired guitar strap embraces conscious simplicity: a clean design, without excess, perfect for pop-rock, folk and acoustic guitarists who prefer the attention to stay on the song rather than on the accessory. We have called it Casino, after the guitar he used for so many years, just like Harrison.

Guitar strap inspired by Keith Richards

Guitar strap inspired by Keith Richards (The Rolling Stones)

Keith Richards is one of the most recognizable faces in rock’n’roll, with a relaxed, chaotic and yet elegant style. His guitar straps usually combine simplicity with a touch of “controlled disorder,” as if everything were part of a carefully crafted yet unpretentious aesthetic. It was used by the legendary Keith Richards during his performance at Tokyo Dome in 1990, accompanying his Telecaster. The guitar strap reflects his open mind and freshness, influenced by Rastafari culture and music, as well as the crocodile-leather guitar strap that has recently often accompanied his Telecaster; we have made a replica.

Guitar strap inspired by Eric Clapton

Guitar strap inspired by Eric Clapton

Eric Clapton, with his blend of blues and classic rock, has always maintained a balance between elegance and simplicity, although he also wore shoulder pads in his day ;). His guitar straps tend to be discreet, functional and very comfortable, designed for long sessions and delicate live performances where any discomfort would steal the spotlight. The Clapton-inspired guitar strap combines a clean finish, cross motifs like the famous crossroads symbol well known in blues, soft yet durable materials and a design that prioritizes comfort, letting the sound take center stage. It is ideal for blues, melodic rock and acoustic musicians looking for a professional and understated look. The same guitar strap and design have been used by Lennon, Page and countless other guitarists.

Guitar strap inspired by George Harrison

Guitar strap inspired by George Harrison (The Beatles)

George Harrison brought a more melodic, spiritual and harmonious sound to The Beatles, and his playing style is also reflected in his aesthetics. His guitar straps are usually simple, with a relaxed yet carefully considered feel, designed to accompany the guitar without drawing too much attention. The George Harrison-inspired guitar strap follows this philosophy:

This guitar strap is the VEGAN version and is a faithful recreation of the guitar strap used by George Harrison and Paul McCartney during the legendary Let It Be recording sessions. This vegan version simulates smooth white leather on the ends, with a silver buckle and a multicolor woven design. The guitar strap appears repeatedly in the film Get Back, and in some frames you can even see Mal Evans making adjustments to swap it between the two Beatles.

Throughout the documentary rehearsals, the guitar strap is visible with both McCartney’s Hofner 550/1 bass and George Harrison’s colorful “Rocky” Stratocaster, although it does not appear in the final rooftop performance. The guitar strap John Lennon uses in the rooftop performance at Apple Studios

Guitar strap inspired by Brian May

Guitar strap inspired by Brian May (Queen)

Brian May, with his Red Special and unmistakable tone, has built a highly visual image on stage.

In the film Bohemian Rhapsody, the guitar strap was not recreated accurately, which motivated us to take on the challenge of replicating it based on a few old, low-quality photos.

In the forums we consulted, it is said that the original guitar strap was lost, disappeared or was stolen. We did not find much information, but we believe the guitar strap may have been a belt transformed into a guitar strap. So we decided to do the same. We adapted our RAS system for a better fit and added the holes for securing the guitar. A curious detail is that Dr. May used electrical tape to keep the “Slide” in place. We replaced it with elastic bands, which can be removed or swapped according to the musician’s preference.

Guitar strap inspired by Elvis Presley

Guitar strap inspired by Elvis Presley

Elvis Presley changed the relationship between the guitar, the body and movement on stage. His guitar strap had to be comfortable, durable and able to keep up with his movements without ever losing control. The Elvis-inspired version captures that essence of classic rock’n’roll, with an elegant design, quality materials and a fit designed so the guitarist can move freely. It is perfect for guitarists who love the 50s and 60s and want a powerful, recognizable vintage aesthetic on stage, with a touch of simple yet highly effective glamour. That same guitar strap design was worn by Hendrix at Woodstock.

Guitar strap inspired by Neil Young

Guitar strap inspired by Neil Young

Neil Young conveys a sense of raw, direct honesty in both his voice and his guitar playing. His visual style is simple, almost “handcrafted,” with a more organic and less flashy approach. Replica of the iconic guitar strap used by Neil Young. Made for guitar and bass, with a 6 cm width, this guitar strap features technical anti-slip microfiber on the inside and 2 mm thick high-density latex padding. It is adorned with the peace symbol and the dove, a design as “hippie” and characteristic as the guitar strap Neil Young used with his famous Les Paul, but improved in terms of comfort compared with the original Canadian musician’s version.

Guitar strap inspired by Duane Allman

Guitar strap inspired by Duane Allman (The Allman Brothers)

Duane Allman, one of the great masters of slide, who has not seen that photo with his 57 Gold Top Les Paul.

This leather guitar strap with a bronze ring is one of the iconic guitar straps that has perhaps become as famous as the 57 Gold Top Les Paul and the 59 Cherry Sunburst of its owner.

The famous guitar strap, originally used by the one and only Duane Allman of the Allman Brothers, is a replica inspired by the original that Duane wore at many of his concerts with his famous Tobacco Burst Les Paul Standard, nicknamed “Hot Lanta,” which he acquired from Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top.

Guitar strap inspired by Paul Stanley

Guitar Strap inspired by Paul Stanley (KISS)

Paul Stanley represents glamorous, spectacular and theatrical rock. His image on stage, with his guitar and guitar strap, is part of a carefully detailed show. The Paul Stanley-inspired guitar strap embraces that stage aesthetic, inspired by one of Paul Stanley’s iconic guitar straps, guitarist of the legendary metal band KISS. This guitar strap captures the spirit of rock with its spectacular design and its construction optimized for greater comfort and durability.

It features embossed simulated rivets combined with riveted metal plates, achieving a striking look without the excessive weight of Stanley’s original guitar strap. Its 6 cm wide tanned leather on the surface gives it a classic and durable feel, but with a much lighter and more comfortable design.

Guitar strap inspired by Stevie Ray Vaughan

Guitar Strap inspired by Stevie Ray Vaughan

Stevie Ray Vaughan, with his powerful electric blues style, always chose practical and secure guitar straps that would not distract him while he got lost in his solos. The SRV-inspired version combines extreme comfort thanks to its wide design, a good grip, durable materials and a finish that recalls his famous guitar strap. It is perfect for blues, blues rock and raw rock guitarists and bassists who demand reliability and comfort in every performance, knowing that the guitar strap will hold them firmly even during the most intense solos. Stevie liked wide guitar straps, and he cared a lot about aesthetics; perhaps his famous hats and the guitar strap on his Strat are what everyone remembers, yes... the shoulder pads he wore too... but that is another topic and another era.
